October is National Estate Planning Awareness Month—a time to review or create plans that protect your loved ones and reflect your values. We also encourage everyone to think about preserving their photo history. Are your photos organized and labeled for future generations? Are non-digital photos (old prints or pictures on discs) digitized? If not, please think about making a plan for the future. We can help you with any part of that process from organizing to scanning and creating a family digital archive for the future. Capturing the information while people are alive and can help provide information about old photos is paramount to the process of passing down family history. We started a tradition of taking a photo at our front door when we got our new office back in 2018. Then each year we hold the old framed photo and create a new one. (Think Modern Family, right?) It's been fun seeing how ONE of us ages and the other doesn't. This year we have a new front door, and since the lighting wasn't so great, we opted for a "near the front door" option. Always fun and tons of laughter as we try to catch our best selves with the self-timer without knocking down the tripod or tripping as we jump in to view. We encourage everyone to do some "traditions" like this...such a fun way to see life in a Reader's Digest view of changes that are too gradual to notice a day at a time.

We're celebrating a lot this week. Hayden has been Photo Nanny "Junior" for NINE years! We're so blessed to have her YOUNG brain around here. Always helping with a smile and truly caring about the projects as if these photos were her own family's...That's why she was the perfect fit nine years ago and continues to bring her creative A-Game every day! We're usually busy helping document others' treasures and loving it., but today we're a bit nostalgic about our own history. Following a crazy idea in 2005 to offer a service to help others preserve their memories, we are still at it. Saying we would organize and digitize photos and create family and business archives sounded like a pipe dream 20 years ago, but we've done it and more! In fact some have said it's like going to Disneyland...Photo Nanny makes dreams come true. It would be fun to calculate how many photos we've organized and scanned, how many families and businesses we've helped so far and how many icloud photos we've reviewed and sorted for people here in the Texas, the US and other countries. But suffice it to say, it would blow everyone's minds and we have lots more work to do! Formats have changed from CDs to DVDs and now MP4s, flash drives and the cloud...and who knows what the next 20 years hold. But whatever ride we're on, we're renewing our ticket to continue the journey and want to thank every co-worker and client who have been riding alongside. Counting our blessings and getting back to work on the double. Happy May 5, 2025.

We'll soon be in Moab, Utah, hiking and capturing amazing photos of the beautiful scenery. It's hard to express the same feeling in photos that you experience when amidst our amazing national parks, but we're going to do our best to share photo tips along the way. So, stay tuned.

Busy scanning a very old scrapbook today and enjoying seeing the memorabilia with hotel brochures for Asheville, NC. Some of the hotels are still around. One was open since 1919. Just imagine the history there. Had to go look up a couple to see how prices have changed. One which was $5 per night (expensive back in Sept of 1934) now starts at $250 a night. But the views...amazing, and very inspiring to make a little trip to Asheville. Posting a little sample of how we "clean up" old memorabilia so the history is maintained, but the "age stains" are gone. P**f!

Today is a milestone...Hayden is 35!!! How is it she still looks like she's in her 20s? Happy Birthday!!! Nanny wanted to be part of the celebration...actually wanted to get into the bag, but still...happy Miss Hayden is alive and well (even if she is growing old here!)
