Who would've thought that the little high yellow Louisiana girl that got teased for having long hair and light skin would be a TV star?!! I was called white girl growing up and in Kindergarten during nap time no one wanted to sleep next me. People say all the time that light skinned girls have it easy and we are stuck up. No sir! I had it hard. I remember when I use to stay outside in the sun praying that my skin became darker like my classmates. I remember being told my long hair was a weave so I started wearing it in a ponytail everyday. Light skinned girls aren't stuck up. Just a little guarded. I know I am not the only girl that was made fun of for the color of my skin. No matter what, I am a black woman. I became comfortable in my own skin once I moved to Houston. There were more girls like me. Light skinned. Pretty. Long hair. Personality. To this day I still have trouble and get shot dirty looks because of my skin color and pretty face. I can't help that I look like this. But get to know me and see that all of my goofy playfulness makes up for all the outside beauty you judge me for. I love my black women. If we could all come together and understand that we are all one color the next little light skin or chocolate girl won't feel the need to tease one another, but congratulate one another for being smart and beautiful. We are one.

I have so much fun on The Session Talk Show It's crazy. Growing up I was told, "Be quiet" and "You talk too much". But look at God! My profession is to talk and be knowledgeable. I am blessed and so are you. Understand something. What people meant for my downfall ended up being what gets me paid. So don't let "They" determine your future.
