🎂 Let’s talk about THE CAKE in a Cake Smash Photoshoot!
After hundreds of sessions, I’ve learned that less frosting = more fun 🙃
Too much cream can make babies hesitate — sometimes the texture overwhelms them, and they end up crying instead of exploring.
So yes, less is more.
Same goes for the setup — those big, colorful themes may look amazing on Pinterest, but they can easily overstimulate little ones. I prefer to keep things minimal, soft, and very Montessori-inspired — that’s how we get those genuine smiles, calm moments, and clean, timeless photos.
Oh, and quick tip — if you’re planning your baby’s session, let them taste a little cake before the big day! 🍰
If you prefer low-sugar options, stores like Whole Foods offer vegan or healthier cakes that photograph beautifully too.
My go-to look? Always a boho, naked cake — simple, earthy, and aesthetic. But of course, I love bringing your family’s vision to life 🤍
And before the cake even comes out, we capture all the sweet little milestones — the way they sit, crawl, play with their feet, those tiny curls and baby hands… the details you’ll treasure forever ✨
