Today marks the last day of my terminal leave in the U.S. Army, which means I am now officially a civilian. After 10 total years of wearing the uniform and 5 years on active duty, it is an incredible feeling for this part of my life to be over.

But more importantly, today is also Memorial Day, where we honor those who did not make it to the end of their contracts or retirements like I was fortunate enough to do today. We will never forget those who made the greatest sacrifice for our country. Freedom is in fact never free, and today is a reminder of that.

I’m closing this chapter of my own life very thankful, but even more thankful for those who continue to serve 🇺🇸
