PUBLIC STATEMENT
Because there are ongoing legal proceedings, this will be my only public statement on these matters for now.
For months, false allegations, rumors, and fabricated stories have been circulated online about me, my daughter Jazmin Perez, and others connected to our family. Most recently, another false narrative was created claiming that I represented myself as a Fox 26 news anchor. Like the many allegations before it, that claim is completely untrue.
I have consistently denied these allegations and have chosen to address these matters through the appropriate legal channels rather than through social media.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office, the Harris County District Attorney's Office, and the FBI are aware of complaints and reports that have been submitted regarding activities surrounding these matters. I have cooperated and will continue to cooperate with any lawful requests from the appropriate authorities.
Most importantly, Jazmin Perez exercised her legal rights through the court system. She appeared in court, stood on her own, and obtained an extended protective order against Candice Matthews and Kristen Danielle Dowdy.
After months of online and offline stalking and harassment, Jazmin made the decision to seek protection through the courts. Any future statements regarding her experiences, legal matters, or personal circumstances will be made by Jazmin and her attorney if and when they choose to do so.
Please respect her privacy and leave her alone.
I also believe that everyone involved should allow the judicial process to work without interference, intimidation, speculation, or attempts to influence ongoing proceedings. The courts are the appropriate place for these matters to be addressed.
I will not be engaging in online arguments regarding Grizzys Hood News LLC or any other individuals involved in ongoing litigation. I reserve the right to moderate my social media pages and remove comments or block accounts that are disruptive, abusive, repetitive, or intended solely to provoke conflict.
I also firmly believe that matters of legitimate public concern can be discussed and reported on within the protections afforded by the law and the First Amendment. However, the facts will ultimately speak for themselves through the appropriate legal process.
At this time, I have no further comment.
My focus remains on my family, my work, and allowing the legal system to do its job. Thank you to those who have shown support, respected our privacy, and allowed the truth to unfold through the proper channels.
