To say I am excited about what’s coming next would be an understatement!!
Next year, on February 21st, High Volume Music Live will turn 10 years old! This is an achievement that is hard to fathom, considering what has transpired the past ten years!! However, we are not going to go into those memories..LOL. That is not what this post is about..
Instead, we are going to look to the future!! We are going to celebrate our ten-year anniversary next year on Saturday, February 22nd!
Sunnyside Posse Mgmt, Marketing and Promotions will host The High Volume Music Live 10 year anniversary by presenting
An Intimate Evening With Elisabeth Withers!
If you listen to my radio show you know how much I love Elisabeth Withers!
Since my days at KCOH (Hi Jerri P Beasley, Answer your phone!!!), and now at my station, High Volume Music Radio, I have been an advocate in getting Elisabeth’s music into the ears of listeners worldwide…
Wanda and I flew to New York in 2019 to witness Elisabeth Withers live in concert up close and personal. Honestly, I wanted to hear my favorite Elisabeth Withers song, “Heartstrings” live, (at least one time before I died!!! LOL).
That’s how much I love Elisabeth!! Ever since that concert, one of my dreams has been to have Elisabeth Withers grace the stage at High Volume Music Live in Houston!
Well that dream is coming to fruition and I am SOOOOOOOO excited…
So here’s a little background on Elisabeth Withers:
Elisabeth Withers was born in Joliet, Illinois, and studied at the Berklee College of Music and at New York University.
She sang as a backup vocalist for Celine Dion and Jennifer Lopez, among others, and released several dance singles under the name Elle Patrice, including "Rising" and "Emotions".
After hearing these singles, Nick Ashford of Ashford and Simpson asked her to audition for a Broadway production of The Color Purple, where she won the part of Shug Avery.
Her performance earned her a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical nomination at the 60th Tony Awards.
As a SOUL singer, Withers signed with Blue Note Records in 2005. In 2007, she released a full-length album on Blue Note Records. She performed on the PBS television show Between the Lions, a puppet educational show as a member of Fonix, singing backup and leading vocals.
Most recently Elisabeth Withers recorded and released the song “I’ve Never Loved Someone (The Way I Love You)” written and produced by Ant Boogie..Yes… ME!! LOL..
Just a few days ago, “When We Fight, We Win,” the definitive inauguration song for our next president, Kamala Harris, with vocals by Elisabeth Withers Produced by Chris Brown songwriter, was released. Go check out both of these songs if you have not yet done so.
