47 years ago today, KISS released their award winning film, KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park! Despite our obvious sarcasm, the idea to produce a made-for-television movie must have looked really good on paper at the time. After all, the band was at their absolute height of popularity in 1978, and their manager (Bill Aucoin) was confident that they could use it to their advantage to elevate the group to the next level. Needless to say, the final result was a critical failure that angered the band (and their fans) in light of its comically juvenile portrayal. The only arguable highlight of the film involved a concert scene that was shot in the Magic Mountain parking lot in front of 8,000 people on May 19, 1978. Do any of you remember watching this when it aired on TV?
