The song speaks to the belief that someone could become the person you hoped they were and to recognizing how denial can disguise itself as love.

“Black and Blue” explores scars thought to be healed, hope that turned into a chain, and the hard-earned understanding of narcissistic abuse. It’s a deeply personal story, shared so others know they aren’t alone.
