Four days without power definitely wasn’t how I planned to spend the beginning of September.

I decided to make the best of the downtime and ordered my 2027 planner so I could start mapping out the year ahead for Cost Frugal Mom.

When it arrived, I noticed the Amazon employee who packed my order had written this on the box:

“ENJOY YOUR DAY! :)”

After a long few days without power, such a simple little message genuinely made me smile.

It’s a good reminder that small acts of kindness matter. You never know what kind of day the person on the other side of a package, checkout lane, drive-thru window, or computer screen is having.

And now, time to start filling up 2027. 💙

These were too cute not to share!

I found these little pretend play notepads in the kids section at my local Meijer, and they were marked clearance. They have different themes like a café, grocery store, ice cream shop, lemonade stand, police tickets and more.

Each pad has 50 play sheets, so they’d be perfect for pretend play, road trips, restaurant bags, or an inexpensive little activity to keep the kids busy.

Definitely check the kids clearance section at your local meijerstores. Clearance prices and availability may vary by store.

Happy World Beard Day to all the dads whose beards have been used as toddler handles, snack catchers, hiding places, and sensory toys.

Parenthood may add a few gray hairs, but at least the beard can hide some of them.
