We’ll open the Word together, encourage one another, and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.

We’re continuing our verse-by-verse journey through Hebrews, where we keep coming back to one great truth:

Jesus is better.

This week we worked through Hebrews 2:10–18 — “Made Like Us.”

Hebrews shows us just how far the eternal Son came down to save us.

Jesus took on flesh and blood.

He entered suffering.

He faced temptation.

He entered death.

And He did all of it so He could bring His people to glory, break the power of death, deal with our sin, and become our merciful and faithful High Priest.

One of the most encouraging things in this passage is that Jesus isn’t distant from the people He saves.

He came near.

He is not ashamed to call His people His own.

And when fear comes…

when shame says hide…

when temptation comes…

when our sin reminds us how badly we’ve failed…

Hebrews tells us where to go.

Run to Jesus.

He understands.

He saves.

And when we need help…

He helps.

We’re continuing our verse-by-verse journey through Hebrews, where we keep coming back to one great truth:

Jesus is better.

This week we worked through Hebrews 2:5–9 — “But We See Jesus.”

Hebrews takes us back to Genesis and Psalm 8 and reminds us what humanity was created for—glory, honor, and dominion under God.

But when we look at the world around us, something clearly doesn’t match.

Sin is still here.

Suffering is still here.

Death is still here.

And sometimes our own lives don’t look anything like we expected them to.

Hebrews is honest about that:

“We do not yet see…”

But that isn’t the end of the sentence.

“But we see Jesus.”

We may not understand everything God is doing.

We may not yet see everything He has promised.

But we know where to look.

Jesus entered our humanity, suffered, tasted death, rose again, and is now crowned with glory and honor.

So when we can’t say:

“I see what God is doing…”

we can still say:

“But I see Jesus.”

Jesus is better.

This week we worked through Hebrews 2:1–4 — “Don’t Drift.”

Hebrews begins chapter 2 with a serious warning:

“We must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.”

Spiritual drift usually doesn’t happen all at once. It can happen slowly—through distraction, neglect, compromise, and simply allowing other voices to take more and more of our attention.

And as men, sometimes we can keep functioning pretty well on the outside while our hearts are quietly growing cold. We can work, provide, serve, know our Bibles, and even lead while slowly drifting from Jesus.

But the answer isn’t to hide in shame or simply try harder.

Look up. Turn around. Come back to Jesus.

The Savior is still the Savior.
His sacrifice is still enough.
His grace is still greater than our sin.

This week we worked through Hebrews 1:5–14 — “The King Angels Worship.”

Our culture has some pretty strange ideas about angels, but Hebrews gives us a very different picture. Angels are powerful and glorious servants of God—but when Hebrews puts them beside Jesus, there really is no comparison.

Angels serve.

Jesus reigns.

Angels worship.

Jesus receives worship.

Angels belong to creation.

Jesus is the Creator.

Creation changes.

Jesus remains.

We also talked about what that means for us as men—our character, the way we handle authority and responsibility, the temporary things we’re tempted to build our identity around, and the importance of keeping Jesus at the center of everything we study and pursue.
