SHOOTING INVESTIGATION: Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a shooting that left one man critically injured Wednesday night in the Castleberry Court area of Hudson.

According to preliminary information from the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene around 8:11 p.m. after reports of a shooting.

Investigators say the incident began as an attempted residential burglary. During the encounter, a physical altercation occurred between the suspect and an adult man, during which the suspect allegedly shot the victim.

A second adult man then confronted the suspect, and another gunshot was reported during that interaction. The second man was not injured.

The wounded victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Authorities said the suspect fled the area before law enforcement arrived and remains at large.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office believes the incident was isolated and involved individuals known to one another. Deputies emphasized there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

The investigation remains active, and no additional information has been released.

CRIME NEWS: The Pasco Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who may have information related to an active criminal investigation in Zephyrhills.

According to investigators, the incident occurred on June 14 at approximately 11:30 p.m. in the Eiland Boulevard area.

The individual being sought is described as a white male standing between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall, with blonde hair and light facial hair.

Detectives are asking anyone who recognizes the man or has information related to the investigation to contact the Pasco Sheriff’s Crime Tips Line at 1-800-706-2488 and reference case number 26021192.

WATER RESCUE: Two paddleboarders were rescued after being swept away and unable to return to shore. The Pasco Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit located them from the air.

OVERNIGHT FIRE: Pasco County Fire Rescue crews responded to a structure fire late Monday night in the 2100 block of Northwood Drive in Land O’ Lakes.

According to fire officials, firefighters arrived to find heavy fire conditions and immediately launched an aggressive attack on the blaze. Through a coordinated effort, crews were able to quickly bring the fire under control and prevent further spread.

No injuries were reported among residents or firefighters.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
