BOWLING FOR B***S: The West Pasco/Pinellas Business Association - WPBA is asking the community to nominate local individuals and families impacted by cancer to receive assistance through its 13th Annual Rock ’N Roll Bowling for B***s fundraiser.
Nominations are due no later than Sept. 15, 2026. WPBA is encouraging residents to share the story of someone whose cancer journey has created significant financial, medical, emotional or practical challenges.
The organization is considering nominations in three primary areas:
Financial and medical burdens include individuals or families struggling with treatment costs, insurance gaps, lost income, transportation needs, vehicle repairs or everyday household expenses while undergoing cancer treatment.
Family impact and emotional support includes parents balancing treatment with childcare, families relocating for medical care, children needing counseling or families who could benefit from an opportunity to rest, heal and spend meaningful time together.
Community advocacy recognizes people who have dedicated their lives to helping others through nonprofit work, volunteerism, community leadership or acts of kindness and are now facing their own cancer journey.
WPBA’s goal is to keep the money raised through Bowling for B***s in the local community, directly assisting cancer patients, survivors and families who need additional support.
“Bowling for B***s is about so much more than bowling,” WPBA Executive Director Tina Gordon said. “It is about bringing our community together and making sure our neighbors facing cancer know they are not alone. Every sponsor, bowler, volunteer and supporter helps us make a meaningful difference right here in our community.”
Those submitting a nomination are asked to explain how cancer has affected the nominee’s life, what challenges the person or family is experiencing and why they would benefit from assistance. WPBA said all nominations will be handled with care and respect.
The fundraising event will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Lane Glo Bowl, located at 8631 Old County Road 54 in New Port Richey. Presented by Firebird Vitality, the event will feature bowling, rock ’n’ roll-themed entertainment, food, networking, raffles, prizes and other activities.
Bowling lanes, sponsorship opportunities, spectator tickets, donations and volunteer opportunities are available, but space is limited.
Anyone who knows a local cancer patient, survivor or family that could use a helping hand is encouraged to submit a nomination to WPBA by Sept. 15.
