A system of five huts furnished with beds, a bathroom, and a fully stocked kitchen has been strategically placed along a 190-mile route through some of Utah’s most scenic backcountry – spanning from the peak of Brian Head at 11,307’ to the beautiful town of Escalante at 5,820’. This section of Utah is called “Color Country” and includes many well-known attractions such as Powell Point, Bryce Canyon National Park, Brian Head Ski Resort, Red Canyon, Aquarius Plateau, Dixie National Forest, the Hogback, Escalante National Monument and much more. After over 40 years, REI confirmed it has ended its Experiences business to refocus on retail instead of classes and guided trips. The outdoor retailer REI announced this week it was exiting its “Experiences” business, ending all adventure travel trips, day tours, and classes. As a result, it looks like hundreds of full-time employees and part-time guides will have their jobs eliminated, effective this week. https://bit.ly/3Ej282N

Bike tools are just tough to get excited about. Granted, there are Abbey bike tools, PB Swiss, and other mega-expensive tools that some people geek out over, but buying a heavy, clunky multitool to toss in your jersey pocket or saddle bag is about as exciting as buying a new pair of 100% white cotton socks.
