A little over a year ago Washington Post picked up this little video we captured of these powerful poems some 4th grade kids had written. Since then it has been featured on CBS News during the presidential inauguration, shared on AJ+ and AJ+ Español, shared on Mic, featured on local news channels, and shown during the previews in movie theaters around the Washington DC area thanks to Montgomery County Government. We have also received emails and phone calls from schools around the country who have been inspired to write their own poems, and heard from police and fire departments as well as human rights organizations who are using the video as a tool to spread awareness about discrimination. This goes to show the incredible power video can have to start a dialogue.
