LA GRAZIA, the new film from the great Paolo Sorrentino, opens today at Story Screen Cinema for a special limited run. Easily one of the most beautifully captured films of the year, this is one to catch on a big screen to soak it all in.

The film follows the President of Italy, Mariano De Santis, a staunch Catholic and experienced jurist, who becomes conflicted about whether he should sign into law a bill legalizing euthanasia, and at the same time has to consider the pardon petitions of two individuals who murdered their partners.

Join us for our next Mystery Movie Night© at Story Screen Cinema, Monday January 5th at 8pm!

Don’t ya just hate it when you can’t decide what to watch? Don’t sweat it, we’ll pick for ya! Each of our Mystery Movie© selections are top-of-the-line awesome flicks to watch on a big screen with a crowd (i.e. “Absolute Cinema”), so we promise no disappointments! Each screening will have a brief introduction followed by a trailer reel of other films that all act as clues leading up to the movie that’s about to screen. It’s fun!

Our good pals over at Meyer’s Olde Dutch are letting us take over their space in Poughkeepsie for a night of record-spinning, chin-scratching and general fun-having! Prizes! Su-prizes!! Other people who really like movies!! Ridiculously good beer and those tasty burgers, chicken sandwiches and fries our buddies are so well known for! They’ve got some pretty epic specials everyday, too!

VHS Pasta Night™ is Story Screen’s celebration of VHS-era cinema! Each event showcases multiple fun creative vendors within the VHS & film community, offering awesome items for sale like comics, VHS, records, original artwork and much more!

BE SURE TO COME EARLY 6:00-8:00 PM:
We’ll have fun VHS and other movie-themed vendors in our lobby. We’ll also be whipping up affordable delicious pasta 🍝 and drink specials in addition to all of our usual movie concessions! Our amazing friends at Sleepover Trading Co. have whipped up an amazing pre-show filled with some truly awesome retro goodness, so be sure to show up early so you don’t miss it! This all leads up to a movie screening on glorious VHS projected right onto the big screen! 📼 📼 📼

Come out and support those lovable, little plastic boxes with other movie nerdz who share that same nostalgic admiration, and see a cool movie in a way it was truly never meant to be seen!

Film Synopsis:
Imbecilic best friends Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) and Harry Dunne (Jeff Daniels) stumble across a suitcase full of money left behind in Harry’s car by Mary Swanson (Lauren Holly), who was on her way to the airport. The pair decide to go to Aspen, Colo., to return the money, unaware that it is connected to a kidnapping. As Harry and Lloyd — who has fallen in love with Mary — are pursued across the country by hired killers and police, they find both their friendship and their brains tested.

Film Synopsis:
FOLKTALES follows the experiences of three students, who leave the comforts of home to participate in a nine-month term at Pasvik Folk High School, 800 miles north of the Arctic Circle, where wilderness survival and the care of sled dogs comprises their educational program, underpinned by elements of Nordic myths. Students, Romain, Hege and Bjørn, are each at the cusp of deciding what path they should pursue in life as each is paired up with their own sled dog to care for during their stay.
