Great photo op!
How busy I am! :) Not too busy though to capture this pic of me with Letitia James. She is what kept me from sharing the following about my show on Tuesday...
✨ Race Talks® Recap: Motherhood, Malcolm & Mental Health ✨
🎙️ Aired Tuesday, May 20th on WGXC 90.7FM (https://wavefarm.org/wf/archive/ka3z4q)
Tuesday night’s episode (May 20th) was straight 🔥. We celebrated Mother’s Day, got real about mental health, and dove into the power of raising conscious kids with my brilliant cousin, Lakia Walker—a wife, mom of 4, and all-around superwoman. We even journeyed to Africa 🌍 through her stories (yes, the Motherland magic was strong). 💫
But that’s not all—we also honored the great Malcolm X. The show dropped just a day after what would’ve been his 100th birthday, and we kicked things off with one of his quotes to set the tone.
We kicked things off celebrating Malcolm X’s 100th birthday🎈 with quotes and reflection on how his mind—and heart—expanded after traveling through Africa and the Middle East. Real ones know: his story didn’t end where it began. Evolution is the point--for us ALL.
May is about Mental Health Awareness, too—and poetry, like love, can heal. 💔🖤 And so, I read a poem from my late Uncle Butch—from his powerful book, "The Black Bard: Book of Moses"[Americus Moses Kash, III]: He, like my other uncle, his brother Peter, battled mental illness for much of his life. His words burned with T.R.U.T.H.:
“My soul is burning because everything good was white. And I wanted to be good and white.” (Just one of many searing quotes.)
(Listen as I break it down--right to the END of the broadcast--find the book on Amazon if you liked it.)
I also highlight ! (Next month I will play the song that missed getting on air...who knew the poem was THAT long, indeed-y?!

We talked about humanity, healing, heritage—and the power of remembering who we are and who we want to BEcome. (Just say NO to MAGA.)
