Residents are uniting ahead of a fundraiser aimed at supporting community participation with the goal of preserving a rural farming community from a proposed 1,900-acre, utility-scale solar project. The project is slated to be on prime farmland in the townships of Zeeland and Jamestown in the southeast corner of Ottawa County.

With all the flock cameras being destroyed locally, we thought it would be a good time to remind people how they arrived and what they are doing.

Appears citizens value privacy and freedom of movement?

Popping up along roadsides in Ottawa County, Flock cameras are one of the latest tools assisting law enforcement. But at what cost? Is an increase in protection worth a decrease in privacy? Or are these cameras furthering us down a slippery slope?

The average price of gas is up 40% since March. Oil tankers are trapped in the Strait of Hormuz by threat of attack, and the world oil supply is down seven to ten percent. Yet we are told that the US is not dependent on the oil at this choke point of all choke points, and we have an abundance of oil. So why are prices so high?

A helicopter and a hexagon—the current effort to collect data on struggling aquifers and surrounding geology. Since April, the US Geological Survey helicopter has been working its way up the southwest corner of Michigan. A few days ago, the helicopter reached Ottawa County, where the flight lines and resulting data will be the most detailed.
