Great day today at BBR! Both studio were busy with sessions. Evan Hart was in Studio A working on a 2026 album release with Eric Bates, and our UAB intern, Michael Bagby, was doing tape transfers in Studio B. Michael was learning the fine art of tape slicing!

The Bates Brothers are having an incredible week so far in New York with our great friend and client, Evan Hart. We are doing mastering on his new nine song project that will also be released on vinyl. We’ve been working with one of the top mastering engineers, Chris Gehringer, at Sterling Sound in Edgewater, New Jersey. Chris has worked with some of the top artist in the industry and has an amazing mastering facility. It’s been a great week!
But it’s really been about the Juniors Cheesecake! lol

Big Band of Brothers is back at BBR! We are so excited to start the BBoB 2.0. The first project was incredible, this one should be just as good. John Harvey and Tom Wolfe listening down to some of the first mixes. The first one made it to number two on the Billboard Jazz charts.

We’ve been mixing on the SSL and printing mixes to our Sony APR 5003 analogue tape machine and then simultaneously back into ProTools for the final mix. Clients are loving it! 🔥💯

So awesome having Highlands College in the studio this past week. Their band and singers were in working on a new song. They worked in both our Studio A and B.

So great having Ruben Studdard back at BBR! And the incredibly talented Jamar Jones came in with Ruben as well. They are starting a new project together and spent 2 days this week in Studio A laying down vocals and keys. Ruben’s vocals were outstanding as always, and Jamar was equally outstanding playing our Yamaha grand, Rhodes, and Hammond C3. Even did a photo shoot! Thanks again guys and we are looking forward to more! 🔥💯
