Hugo News Citizen Note... Since Hugo Municipal offices are closed Friday due to the upcoming July 4 holiday, we are publishing next week's Hugo council agenda in order to give citizens an opportunity to become familiar with posted city business discussions. One of the agenda items specifically calls for "discussion and possible action regarding annexing Highway 70 from Highway 93 to north 4285 Road" (which is the entrance to Kiamichi Park/Hugo Lake Marina-Cabins.) Because this annexation concept has not been previously discussed, Hugo News is giving citizens as much advance notice as possible to seek explanation as to why this annexation is being planned and whether or not any city liability will result. Also under question is whether or not it will have any effect upon private land ownership or further city limit expansion.
