The 2003 Mercury Marauder — Ford’s modern take on the muscle sedan formula. Under the hood sits a 4.6L Modular V8 making 302 horsepower and 318 lb-ft of torque, all sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic.

Finished in menacing black-on-black, it rides on 18-inch polished aluminum wheels and features the signature “satin aluminum” interior trim. The gauges, tachometer, and 140-mph speedometer remind you this isn’t just a Grand Marquis in disguise.

It’ll do 0–60 mph in 7.5 seconds and top out at 117 mph — not record-breaking, but all done with understated swagger.

Fun fact: Of all Marauders built from 2003–04, Black was by far the most popular color (8,330 made). The rarest? Dark Pearl Blue, with only 328 produced in 2003.

What’s up Panther Family?

As many know from Panther Magazine content & Panther meets I’ve hosted - I live on Nantasket Beach in Hull, Massachusetts. Been living here for 4 years now, as of April, in my studio space which I refer to as “my office”. I took a step outside last night to go to my Panther and had the opportunity to catch the aurora. It was my first time seeing one in person and it was pretty cool!

Did anyone else catch it last night?
