Fairlane fill up at the gas station. The 1967 Ford Fairlane roared into racing history with its rare R-Code models packing a ferocious 427ci V8 (producing up to 425 hp), built in limited numbers (around 92) to dominate NHRA Super Stock drag racing—delivering blistering low-12-second quarter-mile runs straight from the factory.
On the NASCAR circuit, Holman-Moody-prepared Fairlanes shone brightly, most famously when Mario Andretti piloted one to victory in the 1967 Daytona 500, leading 112 of 200 laps and becoming the first open-wheel star to conquer stock car racing’s biggest stage.
A true blue-oval legend: lightweight muscle that conquered both strips and superspeedways! 🏁
