Mauricio Hernandez is a senior and photographer and staff writer in Spartan Shield. He enjoys resting when he has the opportunity. He enjoys watching shows/movies and going out with friends to blow steam off. Currently he is in a program known as Student Run Los Angeles (SRLA) preparing to run a marathon for 2026. He is also in Track and Field that begins in spring. He hopes to balance his studies and outside activities to get into a university. He wants to major in business.

Jenna Pinot is a senior, she’s a staff writer, broadcast reporter, and part of the social media committee. Outside of Spartan Shield, Jenna has been involved in Yearbook for 3 years, AVID for 4 years, HP girls flag football for 2 years & HP girls soccer for 4 years. During her free time, Jenna loves listening to good music, going on long drives, shopping, trying new foods, exploring new places, and spending time with her loved ones. This school year, Jenna’s goal is to make as many memories as possible while staying focused on her studies. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in grade school education.

Adrian Reyes is a current sophomore at HPHS. He is in photography and podcast for Spartan Shield. Outside of school Adrian enjoys listening to music, playing video games and hanging out with friends. Adrian is currently involved with the Peer Health Advocate program. His goals this school year is to get a 3.0 GPA or above. One thing Adrian favorite food and drink would be Milk and pizza.

Lunah Chavarria is a Junior and a photographer in Spartan Shield. She loves to watch romance, action, and horror movies. Reading is something she also loves to do, owning over 30 books at home as well as loving music so much she listens to it electronically and physically. She is currently in both book and key club, and is doing what she can to get through high school in once piece. Through her second to last year in high school, she wants to focus on her studies, her friends, and herself.

Adrian is a senior and sports editor here in Spartan Shield. He love to play basketball and watch sports specifically the dodgers. Adrian is one of the captains of the varsity basketball team and enjoy to travel. His goals are to attend UC San Diego and to major in sports journalism and walk the state this upcoming june.

Giovanny is a 12th grader and a script writer as well as a photographer. Some of his interest are cooking and listening to true crime stories. He also enjoy listening to music and watching movies. He also is a member of Modern Band, Robotics, and Science Olympiad. They hope to go to UCLA or UCSB and study mechanical engineering. He is also a fan of many franchises like Marvel and DC.

He enjoys playing baseball and he currently play for HPHS baseball team. His goals for this year are to get higher than a 3.7 gpa and also for the future he is hoping to become a Registered nurse. He is also very quiet.

Samantha is also a morning announcer for school events and important school news. She is very dedicated about her involvement with the school. She hopes to attend Cal State Long Beach and pursuing her dream of becoming a teacher for elementary kids.

She is participating in cross country and really enjoys to run. Some of her goals for this year is to be more involved in school activities. Her main goal is to become a registered nurse and to graduate from Pepperdine University.
