A Cozy Reading Nook in Our New Home
One of my favorite spots in our new home is this quiet, cozy nook I recently set up—a little sanctuary where warmth meets simplicity.
Bathed in soft natural light filtering through sheer, seafoam green curtains, this corner has become a gentle retreat from the busyness of the day. I placed a low bench against the wall, softened with three deep black cushions for back support and draped in a rich teal crochet cloth for a touch of vintage charm. Below it, neatly arranged storage boxes and books peek out, grounding the space with both function and soul.
Beside it sits a leafy plant in a woven basket and a golden ceramic jug, adding a natural and earthy texture that ties the space to the outdoors. Above, framed floral artworks and a portrait bring warmth and a sense of personal history, making the walls feel like they’re holding memories already.
The heart of the space is a simple white fringed rug that lays softly on the floor, inviting bare feet and quiet moments. Nearby, a tall bookshelf brims with color and character—stacked with well-loved books and little treasures that whisper stories of their own.
This corner isn’t extravagant, but it’s full of heart. It reminds me that a home doesn’t have to be finished to be full. Little by little, room by room, we’re creating beauty, comfort, and belonging—one soft space at a time.
