The City of Huntington, WV does not seem to realize that when you name a street after someone, you are bestowing that person's legacy upon that street.

The state of Carter G. Woodson Boulevard between 10th Street and Hal Greer Boulevard is an absolute shame.

All I can think of is the words of then-candidate Mayor Patrick Farrell: "We're going to do the ordinary things extraordinarily well."

The Marshall University Board of Governors just approved purchasing nearly four acres of land along Hal Greer BLVD and Northcott Court to be the new site for the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.

The site had long been slated for a grocery store in that neighborhood. We await future developments on that front.

There is a meeting of the Cabell County Commission at 10am this morning (Thursday) for anyone angry over the local 911 dispatcher losing his job for saving a baby deer.
