KBR Wyle Services LLC, which employs more than 1,000 people in Huntsville, has been awarded a $35.98 million Army contract to provide engineering and technical support for programs at Redstone Arsenal.

The contract has a total potential value of about $207.9 million and runs through 2031.

A federal court revived a former Piedmont High School football player’s Title IX lawsuit, ruling that allegations involving the team’s “keying” hazing ritual could constitute sexual harassment.

The Eleventh Circuit sent the case back to district court, allowing claims against the Piedmont City School District and former coach Steve Smith to proceed.

Alabama’s unemployment rate rose to 3.0% in May, but the state set a record with 2.219 million jobs, with wage growth across key industries according to the Alabama Department of Workforce.

Employment gains were led by construction, leisure and hospitality, and government sectors.
