If you’ve ever felt a tug on your heart to learn more about foster care, there is a great opportunity coming up soon with our friends at Kids to Love. 🕊️🏠

They are about to begin a new round of MAPPS Foundation (formerly known as TIPS) training classes. If you aren't familiar with it, this is the required training step for anyone looking to become a licensed foster parent in Alabama. It’s a safe, supportive environment to ask questions and learn exactly what it looks like to support children in our local foster system.

Important Dates: ✨ Orientation: February 23rd ✨ Classes Start: March 12th (meeting on Thursdays)

Whether you’re ready to jump in or just want to attend the orientation to see if this is the right path for your family, we’d love to see a great turnout from our community.

Head to the Campsite link in our bio for details and registration.

If you have a student in Huntsville City Schools who is more of a 'hands-on' learner, you definitely want to keep this on your radar. 🛠️✨

The Huntsville Center for Technology just opened up applications for the next school year, and it is such a cool opportunity for our kids to explore a real career path while they’re still in high school. Whether they’re interested in things like culinary arts and cosmetology or want to dive into engineering, welding, and automotive tech, they can actually earn industry certifications right here in town.

It’s open to current 8th-11th graders. The deadline to apply is January 30th, so now is the time to chat with your student and see if one of these programs sparks an interest.

It’s a great way for them to figure out what they love doing before they even head to college or the workforce.

The start of a new year doesn't always feel like a fresh start when you are carrying the weight of a loss. While everyone else is focused on resolutions, we know many in our community are just trying to navigate the day-to-day reality of grief. 🤍

If you’re looking for a safe, welcoming place to process those difficult emotions, GriefShare at Grace Lutheran begins a new 13-week session on January 25th. It’s a space where people truly understand that grief isn't a neat, orderly process. It’s unpredictable, and having a support system makes all the difference.

🗓️ When: Starts January 25 | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM 📍 Where: Grace Lutheran Church 💰 Cost: $20 (includes workbook); Scholarships are available.

You can register online or the day of. You don't have to walk this path alone. 🤝🕊️

We already know the INTUITIVE® Planetarium is a local treasure, but now it’s time to help the rest of the country catch up! 🚀✨

Our favorite 8K dome at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center has been nominated for Best Planetarium in the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. We came so close to the top spot last year so let’s see if we can push it to #1 for 2026!

Why we’re big fans:
🔭 'Our Place in Space' show: This is our personal favorite show. If you haven’t seen it you’re missing out. They add new images from missions like Juno and BepiColombo missions that make you feel like you're actually drifting through the solar system. So even if you have seen it once, go back because chances are, they have added something new since last time you saw it. (Unless you saw it like yesterday. Still. Go see it again.)
💫 All the other shows: Honestly, we have never seen a bad show at the planetarium. Each show is engaging, interesting and out of this world entertaining. (sorry, we couldn't resist.)
🧠 The Staff: The team there is so knowledgeable. They don't just push 'play' on a movie; they act as your personal tour guides through the universe, answering questions and sharing amazing facts.
🌌 A World-Class Experience: With 8K resolution and 248 seats, it’s one of the most advanced ways to explore space without leaving Alabama.
🍿 The Popcorn: Another personal favorite of ours. It's good stuff.

How to help: You can vote once a day through February 9th. It only takes a second to show some Rocket City pride! 🗳️👇
