Okay but how fun is this?

Alabama Pediatric Dental Associates & Orthodontics is gifting these tie dye towels to families who come in for an orthodontic consultation this summer, and it's the cutest reason to finally book that appointment you've been putting off.

If your kiddo is at the age where braces are on the horizon, APDAO is the place we trust to walk you through it. Schedule that consult, grab a towel, and check one more thing off the summer list.

We got an early preview of The Chop House in Madison and we have been thinking about it ever since. 🥩

This one works for date night, a nice family dinner, or honestly just a Tuesday when you want something really good. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the kids menu is solid, and the food? Let us tell you about the food.

We started with the spinach queso dip and it had just the right amount of bite, not too mild, not too overwhelming, just right. Then came the ribeye and the horseradish encrusted steak and both were exactly what a great steak should be. Tender, flavorful, the kind that makes you slow down and actually enjoy every single bite. The salads were crisp and fresh and not an afterthought like they can be at some places. And the deviled eggs came with a piece of bacon on top of each one which we were not expecting and are now fully obsessed with. We are making them that way at home from now on. The loaded baked potato was scrumptious, and then we had cheesecake to finish because why would you not.

They also serve lunch which means we have even more excuses to go back.

160 Graphics Dr in Madison. Enjoy!

Oh and psst, head over to our Instagram because we are giving away a $100 Chop House gift card over there! 🎉

Capybaras. In Hazel Green. We just need you to know that.

Wild Reserve at the Boyd Family Farm is one of those places that makes you stop and think wait, this is HERE? Yep. Right off State Line Road. Zebras, ostriches, capybaras, kangaroos, and lemurs all just living their best lives in Hazel Green. Plus a petting zoo and a playground for the kids.

And new this year, animal encounters! Keeper for an Hour is a private tour with one of the zookeepers where you get to help give snacks and pets to some of the park's animal friends. If your kiddo is obsessed with animals, this is literally their dream come true. (Or maybe it's yours. We can't judge. We are giant animal lovers and could hardly sleep the night before going out here because we were so excited to meet all the animals.)

Oh and blueberries are coming mid June at $3 a pound! There is even a special berry pass for $5 if you just want to pick berries. But really, do both and make a whole day of it!

📍 916 State Line Rd, Hazel Green
📞 256-829-5116
🕘 Wed-Sat 9 AM to 4 PM | Sun 12 to 4 PM
💵 $12 ages 3 and up
🫐 Blueberries mid June | $3/lb | Berry only pass $5

Tag a family who needs this on their radar!

History is all around us here in Huntsville and We the People at Burritt on the Mountain reminds you of that in such a fun way. 🇺🇸

America is turning 250 this year and Burritt is marking that milestone with an experience that is genuinely immersive for the whole family. Walk through actual 19th century houses with real stories, hands-on activities that connect kids to the past in a way that actually sticks, gemstone panning at the sluice just like Alabama gold rush prospectors did back in 1829, old-fashioned games, heritage crafts, and a We the People scavenger hunt that ties it all together.

This is the kind of outing where your kids are completely absorbed and you are right there with them feeling all the same things. History does not have to live in a textbook and this is proof of that.

Running now through September 7 at Burritt on the Mountain!

Baby's First Rave at the Madison Public Library is a thing and we are absolutely here for it. 🎉

On June 21 at 3 PM, the Madison Public Library is throwing the most chaotic and adorable event for kids ages 0 through 5. Toddler-techno beats, glow sticks, a DJ-themed photo booth, and snacks. Wear your brightest outfit and let your tiny human loose on the dance floor.

This is the kind of event that makes parenthood genuinely fun and we love the Madison Public Library for it.

Head to Auditoriums 1 and 2 at the Madison Public Library on June 21 at 3 PM!

Please note: there will be music and bright flashing lights throughout the event. If that is not a good fit for your little one, the library also offers Toddler and Preschool story times later in the week!

Got a kid who loves the outdoors? 🐦

Madison County 4H is hosting a Youth Birding 101 workshop at Hays Nature Preserve on Wednesday, June 24 from 9 to 11 AM for youth ages 9 through 18. Kids will learn bird identification including songs, plumage, and seasons, plus ecology, food chains, and the different roles birds play in their environment. There is also an activity and craft included!

And if that is not enough, you can come back the very next morning for an optional birding hike on Thursday, June 25 at 7 AM to put everything they learned into action right there at Hays.

Registration is limited and required so do not wait on this one! Email [email protected] to register and include your child's name and age. An adult must stay at Hays Nature Preserve during the workshop.

Such a cool opportunity for a nature-loving kid this summer!
