30 YEARS OF BUILDING A LEGACY
1996 — 2026
In 1996, I opened the doors to a vision.
That vision began in the kitchen of my apartment.
I had a dream, a determination to build something of my own, and the faith to step out—even when people told me I couldn’t do it and gave me reasons why I shouldn’t.
But I believed in the vision.
And more importantly, I trusted God.
I started with Tangles Hair Designs in 1996.
I built.
I learned.
I invested.
I sacrificed.
I evolved.
And I kept going.
For 15 years, Tangles Hair Designs was the name attached to the vision I was building. Then, in 2011, the business transitioned into Salon Elite & Spa.
It was another level of growth.
Another chapter.
Another opportunity to expand the vision.
And I continued to build.
When I first came to the complex where my business was located, there were only two businesses.
Eventually, there were 11 salons and businesses in that complex.
Over the years, some closed and some relocated.
And today, October 2, 2026, Salon Elite & Spa is the last one standing from that original group.
Thirty years.
Thirty years of ownership.
Thirty years of building.
Thirty years of adapting to change.
Thirty years of making decisions.
Thirty years of taking risks.
Thirty years of learning the business.
Thirty years of staying committed to the vision.
And through it all, God was faithful.
He allowed me to build a business that survived changing times and even a pandemic.
He allowed me to continue growing as an entrepreneur and as a professional.
And He allowed me to reach a milestone that I once could only imagine.
I have also had the privilege of serving in the beauty industry for 37 years.
That is an accomplishment I do not take lightly.
In May 2025, I retired from behind the chair.
But retirement from styling did not immediately mean retirement from leadership.
I continued operating Salon Elite & Spa as CEO from Florida.
And now, October 2, 2026, brings me to another defining moment.
It is time to close my chapter of ownership and transition into a new season.
And with that comes something very meaningful to me:
I AM PASSING THE TORCH.
I am passing the torch to a new generation and new ownership— Keitha Turner
Keitha, I pray that you will continue to build, grow, and steward what has been entrusted to you. May God give you wisdom, vision, strength, and favor as you begin this new chapter. I am super proud of you.
I am proud of what I built.
I am proud of how far the vision came.
I am proud that something that began in the kitchen of my apartment became a business that stood for three decades.
And I am especially grateful that God allowed me to see it through.
This is what legacy means to me:
You have a vision.
You build it.
You nurture it.
You persevere through the challenges.
You adapt when seasons change.
And when your assignment is complete, you know when it is time to pass the torch.
Today, I am doing exactly that.
I am not looking backward, wondering what could have been.
I am looking forward with gratitude for what has been and excitement for what is ahead.
The business was a chapter.
The lessons were an investment.
The years were valuable.
The legacy is real.
And now, I am stepping into a new purpose in a new state and a new season of life.
I give God all the glory for every step of this journey.
1996 — Tangles Hair Designs
2011 — Salon Elite & Spa
2026 — Passing the Torch
Thirty years of business.
Thirty-seven years in the beauty industry.
One vision.
One journey.
And above all—
One faithful God.
Thank You, Lord, for allowing me to build.
Thank You for allowing me to endure.
Thank You for allowing me to finish strong.
And thank You for what comes next. 🙏🏽
The chapter is closing.
The legacy remains.
The purpose continues.
