It’s hard to believe it has been six year and the chapter of high school baseball has concluded. I am so proud of you. always remember in sports and in life, it’s not always about the final score or the number of victories. It’s about the hard work, dedication, and determination you bring. As you enter the next chapter embrace the process, push your limits, and strive for continuous improvement. Alabama High School Athletic Association athletes in The Huntsville Times coverage area have put together some outstanding performances, particularly in baseball and track, in the past week.

This week’s top performer did it all on the baseball diamond.

1. Chase Cartron, Huntsville (baseball)

Class: Senior

The skinny: The 6-foot-6 left-hander – a Troy University signee – had the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Crimson Panthers beat rival Sparkman 1-0. He was 2-for-4 at the plate. He also pitched 7 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits with 6 strikeouts and 4 walks. In a pair of games, he had 4 hits in 7 at-bats with 2 runs scored.
