Our second installment of the Underground Kings series showcases Daequan Cook. Those in Ohio and Indiana know him as Pooh. One of the coldest hoopers in the 2006. When people talk about the 2006 class his name is always comes up when his peers describe the ELITE talent in the class.

While at Dayton Dunbar he was top 15 in the class, McDonalds All American, co MVP of the Roundball Classic, and a state champion. If it wasn’t for OJ Mayo probably would be a two time Mr Basketball winner in Ohio.

Put in work at O State and was a first round pick. Solid NBA years and went on to get buckets across the 🌍

Brandon Roberts out the Dec. Finished his high school career at West Morgan after making the move from Austin. During his senior campaign he did exactly what he supposed to do averaging close to 33 points per game. 1st Team All everything, multiple 50 point games, went 40 for 40 with Josh Langford, and scored over 1K that season alone.

The term three-level scorer is thrown out there a lot but Brandon really had that type of scoring ability. Great shooter with range off the catch and the dribble, had the mid range pull up, and the floater or lays with either hand. He might even sneak and boom on you. As the video shows that left to right cross off the hesi did damage 😂

Went on to have a solid college career at Samford and UAH scoring over 1k on the collegiate level as well. Remains close to the game while pouring into the youth in Decatur as an assistant with the Red Raiders lady hoops squad‼️
