Mother’s Day will be mostly dry, until we reach the evening where some isolated thunderstorms may develop, followed by a line of showers and thunderstorms across the Sam Houston Tate University area. There is a medium-low risk for severe weather Sunday evening.
The greatest chance for severe weather will remain toward our west in central Texas. As the system moves east, however, a chance for a stray strong storm or two does exist. While the threat of tornadoes is low, an instance of strong wind or large hail is possible.
A few isolated storms may develop during the early evening hours, while the main line of storms is expected to pass the area closer to the midnight hour. Rain will linger overnight.
Aside from a stray thunderstorm Monday, the rest of the week looks dry and sunny. Warm temperatures return quickly with highs reaching the upper 80s by Wednesday. Humidity will remain a bit elevated into Monday, but drop slightly into Tuesday and for the rest of the week.
It will still feel a bit sticky throughout the sunny week. Tuesday appears to be the nicest overall with not only a slight drop in humidity, but temperatures in the low 80s and sunny skies.
