After placing second in back-to-back years, Huntsville Botanical Garden is hoping 2025 will be the year its beloved Galaxy of Lights shines the brightest.

Voting opened Monday and continues through Dec. 1 at 11:59 a.m. EST. Supporters can vote once each day to help Huntsville’s Galaxy of Lights claim the No. 1 title in time for its 30th anniversary celebration.

Winners of USA TODAY’s 10 Best Travel Awards are chosen entirely by public vote, and everyone is encouraged to cast a ballot daily to help get Huntsville Botanical Garden to the top.

“We are thrilled that visitors, members, volunteers and supporters from our community voted for Galaxy of Lights in such numbers last year that we landed at #2 in a list with extremely strong competitors,” said Sue Wagner, Chief Executive Officer of Huntsville Botanical Garden. “We are truly grateful for their support, and we hope to get to #1 this year.”

Big news from Fannie Mae 👀

Nov. 6, 2025, Fannie Mae announced that for loans run through their Desktop Underwriter (DU) system, they’re removing the 620 minimum credit score starting Nov. 16, 2025. 🎉 That means DU will look at the overall risk of the file instead of stopping you just because of one number.

Here’s why that matters:
• 💡 Helps buyers with limited or “thin” credit histories get looked at more fairly.
• 🧾 DU will review income, debt, reserves, down payment, and credit behavior — not just a score.
• ❗It does not mean everyone will be approved — lenders still have to qualify you.

This weekend was full of fun and giving back! I kicked things off at Boo Bingo at Yellowhammer supporting the Soroptimist of Huntsville, an amazing group that helps women through scholarships and community programs. Saturday, my husband and I enjoyed the Delta Zeta Chili Cookout, their biggest fundraiser of the year—so much fun seeing familiar faces and supporting a great cause. I’m also so happy to be working again with Nichole, Tracy & Alicia! It feels great to be and surrounded by such an inspiring team! Here’s to a strong finish to the month and even more exciting things ahead with EXIT Rocket City Realty!🚀🏠 💪
