🌑 What is Regolith? 🌑

Ever wondered what astronauts walk on when they land on the Moon—or what covers the surface of Mars? That layer of loose, dusty material is called regolith!

Regolith is a blanket of dust, broken rock, and soil-like material that forms over solid rock on planets, moons, and asteroids. Unlike Earth’s soil, regolith in space has no organic material—it’s just crushed rock created by meteoroid impacts and space weathering over millions of years.

Why does it matter?
•It can be used for building materials for future space bases.
•Scientists study it to learn about a planet’s history and geology.
•One day, it might even help support space farming with the right treatments!

Next time you see pictures of the Moon’s surface, remember—it’s not just dust. It’s regolith, and it’s the foundation for humanity’s next big adventures in space! 🌌
