Made a handful of trips out to Inks Lake while it was drawn down for dock repairs, and the bite has been unreal. Between Frank and I, we put roughly 300 fish in the yaks, and the lower water level made them pretty easy to pick off. Most were in the 2–3 lb range, with a few bigs mixed in.

I’ve been running the Lynx while my PA14 waits on a warranty replacement after a hull crack, and it’s done great out there. Inks has always been such a fun lake, and these trips were no exception.

Decided to stay close to home this morning and hit up Stillhouse. The cooler weather and overcast skies were a nice change and had the fish feeding. The lake seems to be changing week to week and might be starting to shift into fall patterns. What worked two weeks ago was no longer in play. I think things are about to get really good out there. Ended the day with a nice bag and was off the water by 11.

Been a while since I’ve made it out to Inks Lake and aside from the great fishing, it’s one of the prettiest lakes we have. Found some quality fish today and was one of only a couple of boats on the entire lake. So fortunate to have so many great lakes to choose from in Central Texas.

Good news, I almost hit 70" in the tournament last night.Bad news, it was 70" of gar. 😁

Decker showed out today like folks have been saying. Stuck two 7lbers and lost three more around that size or bigger. Still a bit rusty and didn’t fish clean. Ended with about 102”, but hard not to wonder what could’ve been. Grateful to be on the water either way.
