This past Wednesday was the 75th Anniversary of the start to the Korean War.
On Wednesday, the Town of Barnstable held a ceremony at the Korean War Memorial in Hyannis where Korean War Veterans and the Barnstable community gathered to remember and honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the Korean War.
Kim Jaehui, Consul General for the Republic of Korea in Boston, thanked the United States for their efforts in Korea because the Republic of Korea would not be the country that it is today without the tens of thousands of Americans that paid the ultimate sacrifice during that war.
Thank you to the Hyannis Fire Department & Marine Corps League Detachment 125 for providing the colors for the ceremony.
A very special thank you to Roy H. Thomas, Commander of the Korean War Veterans Association Cape & Islands Chapter I, Inc., and Larry Cole who served as the Master of Ceremonies and Heroes in Transition who provided refreshments.
