Good Monday Morning!
12/1/25
⚠️ Travel to OKC is discouraged! ⚠️
Some schools have canceled today!
From Weatherford to OKC and around the OKC metro, there are multiple accidents and even road/interstate closures due to black ice that has formed on elevated surfaces, such as bridges!
We know of 1 wreck here in western Oklahoma, over by the Hinton area on I-40 that involved multiple vehicles and has temporarily closed down the interstate in both directions. (Witnesses are saying its BAD and could have fatalities 😔 🙏)
Precipitation fell early this morning and stuck to everything elevated from Weatherford to OKC (at least) this has included cars, steps, porches, on/off ramps, and bridges. Roads in Weatherford are looking good, but from Hydro and points east it goes from bad to worse quickly!
Temperatures are in the mid 20's to low 30's across the area, with upper teens to low 20's for windchills! Precipitation is still possible this morning, and again later on this afternoon and evening.
Precipitation amounts look to stay light, however, this morning has proven that it doesn't take much to make a messy situation!
Again, please, do not travel towards OKC this morning if you don't HAVE to! Wait until late morning when solar radiation can help thaw those bridges and emergency crews can get the roads cleaned up.
Some school districts have canceled classes today, so check with your child's school to make sure they're having classes today.
