EXPECT GOD

Faith doesn’t always look like standing still.

Sometimes faith looks like a dog sitting patiently with a tennis ball, believing you’ll throw it one more time.

Sometimes faith looks like carrying a worn-out teddy bear everywhere you go, certain the one you love will still be there when you return.

Neither worries about tomorrow. Neither questions whether they’re cared for. They simply trust.

Jesus told us to have childlike faith. Maybe He also gave us a glimpse of it through His creation. Dogs don’t spend their day wondering if you’ll abandon them or whether there will be another game of fetch. They live with confident expectation because they know the character of the one they trust.

How often do we pray but then live as if God has forgotten us?

Faith is not demanding answers. Faith is expecting God’s faithfulness.

Today, be like the dog waiting for the next throw or the one content with her treasured bear. Trust the One who has never failed you. Even when you can’t see Him moving, He is already at work.

“Be brave. Be strong. Don’t give up. Expect God to get here soon.” — Psalm 31:24

This photo captures something that often gets overlooked.

Two dogs. A worn backyard. A little plastic pool. Morning coffee in hand. And an invisible battle that starts every day.

Every squirrel is a threat.
Every bird is suspicious.
Every breeze through the trees deserves investigation.

To us, it’s just another morning.

To them, it’s another successful day defending the kingdom.

There’s something worth learning from that. Happiness rarely comes from extraordinary moments. More often, it’s found in ordinary routines that become meaningful because we give them our full attention.

The backyard.
The dogs.
The coffee.
The quiet.

Sometimes that’s enough.

“Life isn’t always built by chasing bigger moments. Sometimes it’s built by appreciating the small ones that have been there all along. Two faithful dogs standing watch, a cup of coffee, and a peaceful morning remind us that contentment often lives in the ordinary—if we’re willing to notice it.”

You don’t need perfect circumstances to build a meaningful life.

Waiting for everything to line up is one of the easiest ways to waste the time we’ve been given. Life changes. Plans fail. Bodies age. Doors close. But character can still grow. Faith can still deepen. There is always work worth doing.

When life says “No longer this way,” answer with:

“All right. I’ll work that way too.”

Because resilience isn’t about getting the life you wanted—it’s about faithfully using the life you have.

Leadership is a fine line between coaching and criticism. Before correcting someone, remember that not everyone has had the same opportunities, mentors, or experiences you have. Great leaders don’t use their knowledge to elevate themselves—they use it to elevate others. They set clear standards, teach with patience, and hold people accountable without losing compassion. The goal isn’t to prove someone wrong; it’s to help them grow. The strongest leaders recognize their own blessings and use them to build people, not break them.

“To whom much is given, much will be required.” — Luke 12:48

Matthew 7 reminds us that faith is more than words—it is revealed by our choices, character, and the fruit our lives produce. Jesus calls us to examine ourselves, treat others with grace, choose the narrow path, and build our lives on obedience to Him.

Today, pause before judging, choose integrity over appearance, and take one faithful step that strengthens your foundation in Christ.

Time gets away from us. We chase what we believe matters, sometimes sacrificing who we are for things that were never permanent. But there comes a point when it is better to stop chasing prizes and start building yourself. You can lose money, possessions, status—even everything you worked for—but solid virtues, deep faith, and strong character cannot be taken from you. I no longer think of myself as 55 years old; I think of myself as 55 years closer to death. That may sound harsh, but it changes your perspective. Time is limited, so spend it becoming someone worth being—not merely collecting things you cannot keep

We spend so much of life chasing more—more money, more recognition, more comfort—only to discover that none of it can replace strong character. What truly lasts is the person we become through faith, discipline, courage, integrity, and obedience to God. Do not just build a bigger life; build a better soul. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” — Mark 8:36

We all struggle. We all have flaws.

Just as we work to build our careers and businesses, we must also build our character.

Don’t let what you do define who you are. Let who you become define everything you do.

Character isn’t built in a day—it’s built every day.

“For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?”
— Mark 8:36

Adversity reveals what comfort conceals. Every challenge is an opportunity to respond with faith, discipline, and character instead of frustration. Let the pressure strengthen your spirit, because God often does His greatest work in life’s hardest moments.

“The testing of your faith produces perseverance.” — James 1:3

Calm is not weakness. It is strength under control.

Anyone can stay composed when life is easy. Character is revealed when pressure rises, plans change, and uncertainty appears.

Today, choose faith over fear, wisdom over reaction, and peace over panic. Your calm may be the very thing that helps someone else stand firm.
