In the 80’s, before playing Carlton Banks, Alfonso Ribeiro's career included a performance in the iconic Michael Jackson Pepsi commercial from 1984 and a role as Ricky Schroder's best friend on the sitcom Silver Spoons. He also released music, such as the single "Dance Baby," and was known for his dancing skills, even releasing a breakdancing instruction book and kit in the mid-80s titled, “Alfonso's Breakin' & Poppin' Book”.
