Tonight’s show was a tribute to my friend and colleague, Susie B, who died unexpectedly last week. For nearly two hours, I played female artists in honor of Susie’s show, Women Be Wise. Susie B favorites, oldies, new music, and lots of genre criss-crossing. The only diversion was starting the show by opening the KSUT Vault for two songs Kirk James Blues played back in 2018. We lost Kirk two days before Susie. It was a tragic week for Durango music.

Click on the link below to see what I played tonight and to stream this episode for the next two weeks.

On tonight's show, host Chris Aaland remembers his friend and colleague Susie B, who unexpectedly passed away last week at the age of 61. For nearly the entirely of the program, Chris will pay homage to Susie B's Women Be Wise radio program by featuring female artists exclusively. We'll hear from Amy Helm, Nanci Griffith, Gaby Moreno, and dozens more. The only exception is when Chris opens The KSUT vault for a 2018 KSUT Session with Kirk James Blues. Sadly, Kirk died just two days prior to Susie B. We hope you can join us tonight for these musical celebrations of life. Tales of the New West airs from 7-9 p.m. each Wednesday on KSUT.
