🚨 COMMUNITY AWARENESS 🚨

The recent incident caught on video outside of Immokalee is another reminder that we must do more to educate and mentor our youth before conflicts escalate into public fights that put innocent people at risk.

Every fight has consequences that extend beyond those involved. Families are affected, businesses are impacted, and community safety is threatened. Prevention starts long before a confrontation happens—it starts with teaching respect, conflict resolution, accountability, and leadership at an early age.

Immokalee community advocate Jonas Marvelous stated:

“Real progress happens when we judge ideas by their impact, not by who delivers them. Until then, we’ll keep having the same conversations while expecting different results.”

If we truly want safer neighborhoods, stronger schools, and better opportunities for our children, we must invest in youth development, mentorship programs, sports, education, and positive role models in Immokalee.

The future of Immokalee depends on what we teach our youth now.

After reports of a fight breaking out over seating at an elementary graduation ceremony outside of Immokalee, many Immokalee local residents are saying this is exactly why Immokalee continues to lead by example when it comes to supporting our students, Immokalee is a small HUGE town.

This wouldn’t have happened in Immokalee and other towns should learn from our Immokalee parents!

🚨 INEWS BREAKING NEWS 🚨

Shots fired in Immokalee — 3 arrested and 2 hospitalized after witnesses stated the incident stemmed from an argument over a boyfriend during what was supposed to be a community celebration.

Community leader Jonas Mervilus stated that all community events should follow Collier County Parks & Recreation guidelines to help prevent situations involving adults who cannot control their emotions at public events.

Mr. Mervilus also emphasized that this situation is another example of why the Collier County Sheriff’s Office should be involved in all major community events to help ensure safety for families and children attending.

Another educator situation connected to Dunbar High School has the community talking, marking the 7th educator-related case reported in our area.

Let’s not allow Immokalee to be next.
