A 13-year-old Imperial resident was arrested Friday following a stabbing near Imperial High School that left a 17-year-old and an adult victim injured. The juvenile was booked into Juvenile Hall on two counts of attempted murder and a criminal threats charge. Separately, an 18-year-old man, was arrested in connection with charges involving ammunition on school grounds and a large-capacity magazine under a separate case. The Imperial County Sheriffs logs reviewed do not establish whether the two cases are connected.

A rare hantavirus outbreak aboard an expedition cruise ship has caused three passenger deaths and additional serious illnesses.
