I joined INICIO late 2012 and have been spinning records for the past 8 years at various St. My first encounter with electronic music was back in college around 2000. I went to a warehouse party featuring Richard Humpty Vission in Memphis and

was hooked. After moving back to St. Louis a few years later, I searched out local venues, finding myself either dancing or watching the DJ. It’s corny but I have honestly said many mornings, “Last night a DJ saved my life.” The dance floor is a powerful place and I began to search music and learn the technical skills, playing what I would like to hear and dance to. In my early years, I was educated in theater, choral and solo performance, and musicals which have given me fundamental understanding of music. It is quite powerful and that is why I aspire to play music in the first place. For four years, I have been a part of streaming INICIO team, through MyHouseYourHouse, rotating slots every two weeks. For the past 5 years, it has been my privilege to play alongside the INICIO crew and other local DJ’s. This has broadened my love and experiences of house music and the people who make it happen. My sounds range from techy to bassy with a bit of groovin’ house or electro. It all has one thing in common – it takes me somewhere or it makes me want to dance. Sometimes my mixes are on the fly. Sometimes I work for hours/days developing specific programming for a set to achieve a particular experience. Either way, I am comfortable behind the decks – I’m flexible. I have respect for other DJ’s with their unique sounds, styles, programming, and performance – it’s not a competition for me — collaboration is much better and so much more fun. Affiliations are great, but I see no boundaries and support all of the other collaborative groups in St. Louis and beyond. We all have our tribes � Cheers to all those who are keeping House music alive in St. Louis and across the nation. Ha! This song has been playing in the back of my head for a week. It has been at least a couple years since I have listened to it. I remember the 2006 release - loved this one in particular and the video is spot on. Totally feeling it as somehow timely.

I remember this and Audio Bullies, Ego War…kind of frames a chapter of my life. The state of things in our world brought the lyrics to mind and here we are. See What You Will 😂

In response to those who are passively aggressively sharing posts of the American Flag stating you’re proud - you can fly both flags. Besides, you have the month of July to display your patriotism with beer, brats, and obnoxious fireworks. Let those who have been the object of hate and judgment have a time to be proud and recognized this month.
