OUR LANDLORD STARTED COMING DAILY TO CHECK ON THE APARTMENT – WHEN HE MADE A SCENE ABOUT SPILT COFFEE, WE HAD HAD ENOUGH
When I found this cute two-bedroom, I thought, "This is it." The place was old but had that charming vibe, and the landlord, Mr. Whitaker, seemed nice enough when I first met him.
For a few months, it was great. But then, Mr. Whitaker started showing up unannounced. At first, it was once a week, then twice, and soon, it felt like he was there every day. His excuses were ridiculous — checking the plumbing, inspecting wiring, smoke detectors, you name it.
My roommate, Jenna, and I tried to be nice, thinking maybe he was just being thorough. But he got more intrusive, commenting on our cleaning and lifestyle, and sometimes he'd just sit there, watching us. It felt like we were under surveillance.
The breaking point came one sunny Saturday. Jenna and I were having coffee, planning our day, when I accidentally knocked over my cup. Right then, Mr. Whitaker barges in, absolutely FURIOUS.
"What's going on here?!" he yells. "You're ruining my property!"
"It's just coffee, Mr. Whitaker. We'll clean it up," I said, trying to stay calm.
"Just coffee?" he screamed. "Do you know how much damage that can cause?"
I looked at Jenna, and we both knew we'd had enough. We spent the rest of the day planning our response. The very next day, we set up everything we needed for our plan and left for our jobs. Sure enough, Mr. Whitaker let himself in for his daily inspection while we were out. But as soon as he stepped into the living room, HIS FACE WENT WHITE BECAUSE ⬇️
