Blue Springs South returning all-state shortstop Ella Carmack had a really good summer. Now the junior wants to help the Jaguars return to the state final four, which they have reached seven times since 2016.

Blue Springs South junior Ella Carmack described her most recent softball game as “something you would write up in a dream.”

Local Vietnam War veteran gets a chance to honor his fallen comrade in arms in a special way at the Wall That Heals, the traveling three-fourths replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, which was in Buckner last week.

Chris Flaig arrived at Heisler-Burns Park in Buckner early Wednesday morning, ready to volunteer and help put together the panels for the Wall That Heals, the traveling three-fourths replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial that is on display, free to the public, until 2 p.m. Sunday.
