Incorporating more horizontal landing spaces into your feeding station is perfect for attracting a bigger variety of birds into your view! Birds, like Robins, that don't usually eat from the seed feeders will enjoy eating their own snacks alongside your other feathered friends at the feeder station!

We love this robin for helping trim down the summer bug population!

Now is still a GREAT time to be putting our our Nesting SuperBlend! This special blend is a powerhouse mix of protein, fat, and calcium, perfect for fledglings and tired parents. Mix it with your current seed for an extra nutritional boost, or place it in a feeder by itself and watch as the feeder fills with birds!

Whew! July is heating up! While we’re sweating it out, many of our feathered friends are hard at work raising babies. If you’ve noticed more fluffed-up fledglings in your yard lately, you’re not alone! 🐥

💦 Pro tip: Fresh water is everything in this heat. Stop by and ask us about our best bird bath setups (and how to keep them clean and cool in the summer!).

Also, how cute is this candid photo!? 😍 I was so happy had my camera to capture this cute moment at the bath!

Summer hummingbird roll call!!!

This edition of Question the Flock wants to know how hummingbird activity is going in your yard. For summer, we're getting reports of decent activity! How about for you?

A fledgling may look like it's struggling, but often it’s exactly where it should be! Most backyard baby birds leave the nest before they can fully fly!

If you spot one hopping around under a shrub, don’t panic, it’s part of the process. 🐣 Let nature do its thing, and soon you’ll see those clumsy flutters turn into strong flights!

This Independence Day we’re enjoying some of nature’s own fireworks—the red, white, and bluebirds lighting up our backyards all summer long!

🐦 Red – Northern Cardinals and House Finches are flaunting those bold hues like backyard royalty.
🐦 White – Not exactly white, but the fluffy white bellies of tufted titmice or mockingbirds add some shimmer to the show.
🐦 Blue – Eastern Bluebirds, Indigo Buntings, and Blue Jays? Nature’s answer to sparklers. 💙

🧨 While we’re enjoying the fireworks, remember: birds (and pets!) can be startled by the noise. Keep feeders stocked and water sources full. Our feathered friends might enjoy a peaceful place to recover from the commotion!

👉 Tell us below who your favorite red, white, or blue bird is?

Hummingbird nectar and July temps are not best friends. 😬 When it’s this hot, nectar can spoil fast so we’re reminding everyone to change it every 2-3 days to keep those little gems happy and healthy!

Need an extra feeder so you can rotate clean ones? We’ve got a few favorites in store that hummer-tested and WBU-approved. 💚

Refreshing your bird bath every 3 days provides fresh, clean water for the birds and prevents mosquitoes from using your bird bath as a breeding ground! Now is the PERFECT time to add a bird bath to your yard if you don't have one already!
