My first year trying Dahlia bulbs and I’m sold. The blooms are unreal and last so long in a vase 😍 when I think about what was missing last year on our homestead it was flowers…definitely flowers.

I am embracing this first year of starting a garden and learning what grows best where 🌱 We are on our second year of homeschooling and our first year was a learning process for all of us as well πŸ“š each year seems to be getting better!

We’ve officially had these girls for a year now πŸ₯°

So many things I learned that would’ve been nice to know like…

- Goats will clean up your land (eventually, kind of). I did hear sheep were better for this!
- They have separation anxiety and will scream for you when they see you
- They will get out (any and EVERY opportunity given)
- They don’t care about your newly planted garden
- They are super lovable
- They love to jump (including on your back 😬)
- Too much grain makes them bloated
- A teaspoon of black oiled sunflower seeds helps with dandruff on their coat

It’s been the best year with these girls πŸ₯° I never in my life thought I’d own goats but here I am just living it up πŸ˜†

I’d love to hear anything you have to add πŸ‘‡ I’ve read a few books but have learned so much from this platform ❀️

We’ve had to clear out some unhealthy trees and this girl was heartbroken πŸ’” She wouldn’t let her dad cut down any more until he promised she could plant another one. So we planted our first apple tree! 🌳

And if you haven’t read β€œThe Giving Tree,” it’s a tearjerker. Took me about 5 times through before I could read it without crying 😭❀️

And as much as we all loved this vacation 😍 (swipe left), we all missed home! Must mean we are doing something right πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I would rather us miss home than miss being away from home 🏑❀️ That and I think I’m passing my β€œhomebodyness” onto my kids πŸ™Š Anyone else with me? @ Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa
