Dunkirk, Indiana hides one of the Midwest's darkest and most unsettling legends....Blood Road.
Just off Eaton Pike on County Road 700, locals have told the same chilling story for generations...a tragic accident, a haunted farmhouse, and a Road where a phantom Blood trail appears only when you drive it in a certain direction. The Legend claims that a farmer accidentally dragged his young son for miles behind his truck after hitting the infamous "bump" in the road. Some claim the boy was buried in the basement of their farmhouse...and that his spirit never left. Even after the Road was repaved, drivers report strange noises, shadowy figures near the tree line, and the sound of chains dragging across the asphalt. Others swear they've still seen the disappearing trail of blood. Whether you believe in paranormal activity, dark history, or eerie small town secrets, this is one of Indiana's most disturbing ghost stories, and one that refuses to stay buried. If you've ever driven Blood Road, heard the legend growing up, or have your own unexplained Indiana story...share it in the comments! I wanna hear EVERYTHING!
