Community is one of those things that gets talked about often… and every time we are in the right room, we are reminded why it matters so much.

Engage Mentoring’s Women’s Leadership Council Gathering was a beautiful reminder that connection does not always have to be formal, forced, or overly “networky.” Sometimes the best rooms are the ones where you get to meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, and have the kinds of conversations that remind us we are not meant to build, lead, or grow alone.

Our founder, Rebecca Bormann, had the opportunity to connect with new folks and catch up with a few familiar favorites. That combination is exactly why showing up matters.

Because community is not just about who you know. It is about who encourages you, challenges you, opens doors, shares wisdom, creates space, and reminds you what is possible — and how we do the same for others.

For us, the most powerful part of networking is often the smaller things: hearing someone’s story, being reminded you are not the only one figuring things out, or realizing a simple conversation may become the beginning of something meaningful.
