Troubadour Songwriter Night, tonight at the The English , 7-10pm. Let's see: OK, Kat's spelling fixed (jeez, why didn't I double-check?) And after this horrific weekend in the news, it's another one of those times when it's hard to feel like singing, but we shall, gotta keep onkeepin' on. Tonight, I'm singing for Ahmed al Ahmed, the Syrian-born hero who tackled one of the Australian beach shooters.

Come celebrate John Lennon tonight, at Different Beat's "Troubadour Night"...

It all goes by in an eye blink. I remember the night John was shot like it was yesterday. I was at college and my friends and I felt our future of unlimited possibility irreparably dimmed. Not too long ago, I found something I wrote that night:

"One more light out in the sky
One more soul leaving to fly
away..."

And I pledged to use my life to keep his music and spirit alive.

Well, damn, if I haven't actually tried to do just that, through all these eye-blink years of thousands and thousands of gigs. And so it goes - if you can, come join us tonight at Troubadour Night to celebrate John...
