🔥🎶 WEEKLY WORSHIP | “Lord, burn it down” May The Lord Studio

This one has been in my ears this week, and whew… “Lord, burn it down” is a MUCH easier thing to sing than it is to actually pray.

Because what are we really asking?

God, remove what distracts me.
Prune what needs pruning.
Shake what needs shaking.
Take the plans I made without You.
Take the habits I keep defending.
Take the things I’ve gotten comfortable carrying.

And even if something isn’t necessarily bad; if it isn’t supposed to go where You’re taking me, give me enough faith to let it go.

📖 Hebrews 12:27–29 talks about things being shaken and removed so that what cannot be shaken remains.

📖 John 15:2 reminds us that pruning isn’t reserved for what’s dead. Even something bearing fruit can be pruned so that it bears more.

And then there’s Psalm 139:23–24:

Search me. Know me. See what’s in me. Lead me.

🔥 That’s a scary prayer when you mean it.

BUT there’s something else really interesting about this week’s song.

May The Lord Studio isn’t a traditional recording artist or band.

It’s an independent gospel music project that openly incorporates modern creative technology, including AI-generated or AI-assisted elements, alongside human songwriting and Biblical inspiration.

And I think that’s worth telling you.

AI is already finding its way into music (including Christian music) and if I’m sharing something with you every Sunday, I want you to know what you’re actually listening to.

It also opens up a pretty fascinating conversation:

Can something created with the help of artificial intelligence still point a human heart toward God?

I don’t know that we’re settling THAT entire debate in a Facebook comment section. 😂

But I do know this song made me stop and examine what I’ve been asking God to preserve that maybe I need to be willing to surrender.

So this week’s prayer is simple:

Lord, if it isn’t from You, I don’t want it.

Even if I’m attached to it.

Even if I had plans for it.

Even if letting it go hurts.

This one is for Dolly.

Not just the rhinestones. Not just Jolene and 9 to 5. Not just the larger-than-life personality everybody knows.

The songwriter. The actress. The businesswoman. The philanthropist. The woman who built an extraordinary career without letting the world decide who she needed to become.

🎶 WEEKLY WORSHIP | Stompin Demons, Eluzai

Okay, this week’s worship song might not sound like what you expect when somebody says worship. 😂

No big worship chorus. No piano building underneath a bridge.

It’s God-centered instrumental trap.

Eluzai is an independent artist, producer and rapper who blends Christianity with lo-fi and alternative hip-hop; and Stompin Demons actually came from one of his beat-practice routines. After people heard the original beat online and kept asking for a full version, he turned it into the song we have now.

And there’s something I LOVE about worship existing here, too.

Luke 10:19.
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions…”

Romans 16:20.
“And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.”

Sometimes worship is quiet surrender.

Sometimes it’s crying in the car.

Sometimes it’s standing at the altar.

And sometimes?

It’s putting on a beat that reminds you exactly WHOSE side you’re on and stomping your way through a season that thought it was going to take you out. 😂🙌🏽

🎶 NEW MATM SEGMENT: MUSIC MADE ME DO IT 🎶

Because apparently listening to music isn't enough anymore. 😂

Every other Friday, I'm letting music get me out of the house and into something a little different.

Maybe I find a tiny music shop I've never been to.
Maybe I stumble into some live music.
Maybe I try an instrument I absolutely have no business touching.
Maybe a song sends me somewhere.
Maybe I take a harmonica into the woods for reasons that make sense only to me.

There really aren't rules.

Just one requirement:

🎵 Music has to make me do it.

Some adventures might be 20 seconds.
Some might turn into a whole thing.
Some might be genuinely cool.
Some may be a terrible decision.

Either way, you're coming with me. 😂
