Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears’ office has declined to prosecute a 33-year-old Marion County resident who lives at the Damien Center after police say he pulled a gun on a Shortridge High School student.

IMPD documented the case on Sept. 29. The case information card lists CAD number IP2600079498, incident type intimidation, officer E. Snowden.
Pointing a fi***rm at another person is a Level 6 felony in Indiana.

Intimidation with a deadly weapon is a Level 5 felony. The student was a minor. The adult was not.
Mears’ office has wide discretion over which cases it files. Declining this one means a reported gun pulled on a Shortridge student does not go in front of a judge.
