Time Off:

Many followers don’t know that I have not left Indiana nor had a vacation in 15 years. I haven’t had a day off since 2022.

If someone offered me a free trip to the Bahamas, I wouldn’t want it. I am right where I am most happy.

I am a workaholic. I’d rather be working than sitting around on a beach. How boring.

But, everyone I know gets time off. But me.

The holidays are coming and like every year, I will be cleaning kennels and running dogs on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Sometimes I get lonely thinking of people at home relaxing with their feet up and bundled in a blanket on a couch. I bought a new cheap couch last Spring and still haven’t sat or laid on it.

In fact, I haven’t turned on the television in the living room since last March.

That’s nuts.

I want to binge watch something. Maybe get a makeover.

So, as an anniversary present to myself, I will be unavailable October 2-9, 2026. I’ll be updating the website and here to notify people. Subscribers will still get content. 😉

I will be scheduling as any meet and greets prior to my 5 days off. Yes, I will be working but I will not be available. Gosh, my inside voice just said, “Well, unless there’s a dog in urgent need..” Hard to stop.

I’m really going to try to be closed October 2-9th. Ok?

Until then I’m trying to get as many dogs adopted before then.

Thanks!!

Juicy (hahaha) and her best friend, Teddy, would love a home together. It’s very hard to place two dogs together but worth a try. They sleep together and play together. Both were out of time at Stockton Animal Shelter.

Photographing these two clowns was not easy. 😃Video coming.

To the person who adopts Monty, you’re a very lucky person. He’s a joy. Great with handling, obedient, eager to please, gentle-natured in spite of being just over a year of age.

Monty was placed in dog play groups at Stockton Animal Shelter and did very well. Oh, and Monty is happy to roll over and show you, his very cute, belly.

He’s a little on the thin side but believe him to be at likely 75-80 at full weight. No history with cats is known.

Fenrir (Fennie) is going home. ❤️

Update:
Fenrir is being released today. The owner will be sharing pictures. I am waiting to hear from VCA with the final total. I appreciate those who were able to help the rescue provide care for him. I never know who reads posts or if people understand the gravity of the need. So, THANK YOU.

The owner wanted me to thank everyone who gave as well. He is extremely grateful that Fenrir is alive because of people he never met.

He promised to send pictures and I’ll be sharing them soon.

Also, last night the California kids arrived and all are so sweet! I’ll be sharing their bios and pictures.

Have to do some kennel work today but hoping to be in my office earlier than usual to catch up.

Truly never a dull moment around the farm.

Welll, hold up.

EPI is not the diagnosis.

Fenrir is however walking around and eating well.

An internal medicine specialist will likely be seen Wednesday to pinpoint the diagnosis.

Never a dull moment, huh?

UPDATE: Fenrin is back home!

Good news! Prayers are working. Fenrir’s blood pressure is up and eating. He regurgitated his food today so he was given additional anti-nausea medication.

They want him to stay one more night and the owners to speak to internal medicine. Diagnosis is EPI.

I don’t know what the total will be but if any followers would like to donate toward Fenrir, please call VCA Advanced Veterinary Care directly and mention that you’d like to contribute to FENRIR’s medical costs.

He is not under the rescue’s name but the rescue has agreed to cover costs, to a point.

They know that all charges are to be cleared first so I don’t end up with a $6k vet bill. That wouldn’t be good.

You’re also able to donate to the rescue directly to assist by clicking the PayPal link or using the rescue’s email for Zelle. Please note in your donation that it is for Fenrir.

Obviously, the rescue cannot help dogs outside of its care but given his age, I felt compelled to try to help.

Looks like he will recover but with another night staying over and additional meds, I’m worried about the final amount.

Thanks for any help. And, thank you for your PRAYERS.

Called VCA Advanced Veterinary Care to check on Fenrir before I get some sleep.

His blood pressure is holding steady. That’s encouraging. Will provide an update later this morning.

Thank you for all those praying for this young boy.

I want to share some more information that some may find helpful in the event their dog experiences symptoms similar to Fenrir.

I have not received a diagnosis so please take my conclusion with a grain of salt. If Fenrir has EPI, the family fed him some fat off of some meat they were preparing. They said that is when he began to vomit and become lethargic. Since dogs with EPI may have an issue with fat and digestion, this could be the catalyst for this episode. Again, not a veterinarian, just guessing.

I’ve had two shepherds with EPI. I bought pancreas from Pet Carnivore and gave enzyme powder for one and had better success than just enzyme powder.

We’ll see what the diagnosis is later today.

Good night and good morning. 🤪
